Hey You Want Dad's Number ? Sure he does. Mason is asked and he gets #10. Hockey has started for him and he's off on the journey. Starting a lot younger than his dad and lovin' every minute. Have a look at the clips I got this morning at Twin Rinks. Click Here.

A couple of days ago both of my smaller grand kids got haircuts. Pictures are below. Aren't they cute? Of course they are.
My older grand kids aren't cute anymore (well maybe Josh is if he hasn't gotten his hair cut yet) but at least I can catch up with them when I want to take a picture. The older ones also will stand still and smile or just make a face or two but no dodging, dipping or squirming. M & J just never seem to sit still unless they have that vacant look on their face watching tv or a video on the Ipad. I just mention this cause they really did look "Cool" with new haircuts but taking about 20 pics....... I got two that are any good and one of them the one of Janie is just OK. Enough whining. Enjoy the shots. Mason and Bumps want trains for Christmas..... Just about every year since for ever I've wanted a train to replace that old Lionel set (O Gauge) that I had when I was a kid. The Lions Club here in the Wack put on a train show every fall and I finally found someone that wanted to go with me. How can you tell he's hooked. We spent a couple of hours wandering around looking. N. HO. and lots of bigger stuff available. Much to some parents future chagrin there is also stuff put out by lego.. Watch out Mom and Dad......and Judy. There were set ups like you wouldn't believe. Puget Sound Garden trains. Smaller ones in "N" gauge with mountains and tunnels that took up a surprisingly confined area. Big ones that go outside in the garden.. Not too big though. The tracks, buildings and cars and mountains and scenery that go along with some of these just blow your mind. And if you are young enough this is how close you want to get to see the detail. The one below is HO gauge and the detail is pretty good don't you think. Mason and I want a train set for Christmas...........;)
Just in case you wanted to check out all the different types of gauges and look for more info here's a link to the Wikipedia page on model trains......RIGHT HERE I thought that I would take a bit of time and just go through some random thoughts, yes I have them but remember they are completely random. A few things have been going on and if anyone can read and I guess you can if you have made it this far...it won’t hurt. So I’ll try a post or two with out pictures. Well there is the one. It just didn’t seem right to not have a picture.
Thanksgiving in Canada is always fairly early in October. We don't have the rush to the “Holiday Season” that our friends to the south seem to have. They pile on the Turkey at Thanksgiving and then shop until they drop about a month later at Christmas. Seems excessive to me and I recommend that they go the Canadian way in this as well as some spelling. We all got together as a family except for Caitie who has learned the value of working a shift on a Statutory holiday is a little better than a normal day. Hey ! ... money is money. We had a great time as usual and I thought I would just say right here that part of the day is just being thankful for family and the fact that we are all close and can do these sort of things. So as the Fitzy’s in this house wander on towards the end of 2012 here’s what we are up to. Chris is working for the City and bikes to and from work most days, allowing me to use his truck sometimes. He does cheat on the bike once in a while though. As a result of his morning jaunts he did run across a situation that I used to really enjoy. He caught a guy Breaking into a store on his way to work. Still dark he went past a guy as he smashed a window out. Cops were called but he got away. Man I used to like being there for that..didn’t happen often enough though. Denise is back at school in Agony errrr Agassiz Sr. High. Off hiking the mountains around the top of the Valley as often as she can with her classes and groups. Can’t really think of a stirring tale that she has told me but she is having fun with the new crop of grade 8 kids. Mason is in Grade one and has you can see in a previous post running around. He is also on the ice a couple of times a week as a first time hockey player. Pretty serious at it but improving ever week. Hasn’t got his dad’s stride down yet but it’s coming. Dad BTW is helping on ice with the group. oh and Mason is still into Jiu Jitsu. Kicking and stuff ..he’s a natural. Ask mom about getting Mason to hockey for HER first time. ;) Jane is Jane the funniest cutest grandchild anyone could have. Living life to the fullest and enjoying everything with the odd 3 yr. old glitch. Jude just finished a teaching stint at the University of the Fraser Valley and is settling down again with her two days at the HOME and her oldies. We still have great weather but I fear it will come to an end soon. Last night we were joined by our Cruisin’ buds Jim and Kathleen from Redmond, Wa and we went to see Stuart Mclean of the “Vinyl Cafe” fame. Really, if you get a chance go and see him, listen to him on CBC radio at Noon on Sundays or download his podcasts (free) on Itunes. Jim btw is known around here as Obi-Mac Kenobi and once again helped us out with a lap top that we have passed on to Denise. Mac’s never die they get “Passed on”. Next weekend & maybe the following would have been my favorite time of TV sports. Football, Baseball and NHL hockey. But those millionaires of hockey are not playing ----- Bah Humbug. and with that this random thought process is over. Oh Ya..that piece of paper was my place name tag made by Mason (with help I assume) and clearly marked my spot at the head of the table at Thanksgiving Dinner. Great family I got. |
