As usual I do need to catch up. Its another dreary day here in the Valley. We had a winter with lots of snow and now a spring with it seems a lot of rain. Sunny days few and far between. I have however been able to get out a few times since the snow left and more often lately as we actually do get into real Spring. The Swans have returned for another year to feed on the Valleys treats enroute to Wrangal up in Alaska. They are huge birds and fly quite slow so it's easy to picture our fore fathers plinking them out of the sky for food and "Fun." Almost all killed off... it is a really treat to see how they have come back. This flock had a few Canada geese mixed in just for fun. We have had two visits from the Bellomo's for hockey the most recent last Saturday as the Chiefs have gone long in the playoffs. Game 4 of the Provincial final is tonight and the series is 2-1 for the dreaded Penticton Vee's. Great Hockey. We also managed dinner out. Back a while we did Indian... Saturday we Frankie's Italian kitchen. Indian was Indian for sure, not sure we ate much Italian..kinda West Coast I think. Speaking of hockey Mason had a good year. Played on the A2 team for his age and got to wear the C. This was his first complete season of playing Defense and after a ragged start the team and he improved a lot. Now into Spring hockey and have one Tournament in Kamloops to go. A couple of weeks ago they won their own tournament bracket here at home and felt like they had just won "The Cup." Here's a few shots of the season. AS you can see Chris played his part in the program and was an asst. coach in both the minor hockey season and spring hockey. Mason is a great number 12. He did make the score sheet several times this year. A couple of goals along the way too. A stay at home D man improving and having fun. A few family and personal updates. First Margaret's grandson Leo turned one up in PG. Known to all as Mini Ant. (if you knew Anthony you would know what we mean) Judy did a stretch of child minding at her daughter Marni's and Mason and I dropped by for a visit on a Spring break Road Trip. Mace and I stayed over night and went down to Redmond to pick up some things from the Bellomo's. Then overnighted at the Cabin in Point Roberts waiting for the weekend Fitzy's to show up. Mace and I did the Bass Store in the New Mall in Ladner and he picked out a Boat. We didn't win the lottery so the boat is on hold still. Judy's daughter and family are building a new home on Lake Samish. We can't wait until summer. Jane and Denise are still into the girls thing at Ju Jitsu I have are hard time keeping up with them on camera. Judy and I are settling in and enjoying life as it comes. She is still playing bridge once a week over in Abby and involved in her Ladies group over there too. Moving to Chilliwack has also put her back in touch a lot more often with her friend Mary. We didn't get down to the Point much over winter but we ALL (Fitzy's minus Caitie and Josh) were down last weekend for Easter. Hopefully the weather will get a lot better for us. As I mentioned have been able to get out once in a while and more frequently lately on the bike. One of things that I had kept an eye on over the spring was the replacement bridge for the Vedder/Chilliwack River here in the Vedder Crossing are aof Chilliwack. The bridge was fabricated off site and fitted together and then placed over the water. Really interesting to watch. Here are some of my shots of that action and a beautiful spring selfie for my fans. Also it is Election time here and I got my MLA to pose for me. Of course since he had used my tax money to build it he was pleased to show he had a "Hand in it " Here's a link to the City Overview and a time lapse video www.chilliwack.com/main/page.cfm?id=2530
